Dr. Muotri is a professor of Cellular and Molecular Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California in San Diego. The Muotri Lab at UCSD’s Rady Children’s Hospital conducts research on neurological diseases, such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, and uses human stem cells to investigate fundamental mechanisms of brain development. Dr. Muotri has received several awards, including the prestigious New Innovator Award from the National Institutes of Health, the Emerald Foundation Young Investigator Award, the Surugadai Award from Tokyo University, the Rock Star of Innovation from CONNECT, the NIH Eureka Award, among others.
